Cocoa Brownies

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup margarine or butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
2/3 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

Heat oven to 350. Mix sugar, margarine, vanilla, and eggs. Stir in remaining ingredients. Spread in a greased square pan, 8x8x2 inches.

Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, 25 to 30 minutes; cool. Cut into 2 inch squares. Yield: 16 brownies

Chocolate Cake

3 cups flour              2 cups cold water

6 tbsp. cocoa           2 tsp. vinegar

2 tsp. baking soda    3/4 cup vegetable oil

2 tsp. salt                 2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups sugar

Preheat oven to 350. Combine all ingredients.

Bake for 30-40 mins or until toothpick inserted

into middle of cake comes out clean.
